The Iron King By Julie Kagawa

The Iron King By Julie Kagawa
My Rating 4.5/5

Description:Meghan Chase has a secret destiny—one she could never have imagined…
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six.
She has never quite fit in at school…or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war.
Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

My Review: This is a book that has been on my TBR list for more than a year. I finally gave it time and got my hands on it. This book starts out very intriguing. Meagan is an oddball at school and has never fit in. Her father disappeared years ago mysteriously while taking her to the park. No trace and that has haunted her ever since. Her mom is an artist and her stepdad is boring and often seems like she has forgotten that she exists. Her 4 year old brother is the one who looks up to her. She chases the monsters from his closet and talks to his floppy bunny when no one else will. On her 16th birthday everything she knows or thought she knew changes and she is sent headfirst in to a world that she never knew existed. With her best friend Robbie as her guide she is plunged in to a place that she could possibly fit in. When she meets the prince of the unseelie court he is destined to kill her but there is something there in his touch.
I was glued to this book from the beginning. The action is nonstop and there are enemies and friends around every corner as well. Meagan is a girl in denial of her heritage and the end of this book left me ready to crack the next one.  I recommend this book!! Great read well worth the time.
