This month I have read a lot of great books but the Hunger Games Series was by far the best. It is set hundreds of years in the future after the fall of America and when a new government has been set up. This government is more like a dictatorship and people are starving to death all over except in the Capitol which is a lot like Hollywood. The districts of people rebelled once and lost and now the capitol forces the children from the districts to compere in an annual event called the Hunger Games. They take a boy and a girl from each of the 12 districts and put them in an area for them to fight to the death until one is left standing. The main character is Katniss Everdeen and she is thrust into the games when her little sister's name is called. She volunteers to take her spot with no expectations on coming out of the arena alive, but since she has excellent very good hunting and survival skills she actually becomes a contender. I loved this book and it has an element of a love story in it too. Which makes it all the more interesting with some twists and turns. This is one of those books I could not put down and just kept going" One More Page, No Just one more" I like to call them the OMP books. If you have not read this series then you should get your hands on them and get going. each book is about 300 pages and they are not hard to follow. They have lots of action and will keep you at the edge of your seat.
Happy Reading!!
