City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Rating:5/5
Description:When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with odd markings. This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons-and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, golden-haired Jace. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . .

My Review:. This book was a great book. I have heard many great things about the series so I said "what the hey" and gave it a shot. This book really kept me entertained. I spent a least one night going just one more chapter and reading for 3-4 more chapters. The mystery keeps you guessing about what is really happening and you really have to look at some of the characters more than once .do you trust them? Clary is the protagonist and she is strong and independent, Jace is more mysterious than Clary's mom who has disappeared causing Clary to now realizes she knows nothing about her mom or her own life.Clary finds herself falling for this mysterious boy. She even drags her best friend Simon into the danger know if anything happens to him she will blame herself forever. This is not a book that I would miss and I can not wait to see what the next installment of the series has in store. This is now one of my favorite books even though I don't know what happens next because you know with all of that action and mystery that it ended in kind of a cliffhanger with plenty of unanswered questions. Once you get started you will not be able to stop. It has the paranormal theme to it, you know vampires, werewolves, demons, warlocks and fey too.  I highly recommend it so get your hands on it and get started. There are 4 books to the series right now and at least 1 more planned.
